Reading this wonderful book that clicked this thought into my brain today…..
Society teaches us that when we give something away, it is lost. That...
i wanna know how many of you are from here..
I like the way Ken Kesey explains LSD it in this quote:
“I believe that with the advent of acid, we discovered a new way to think, and it has to do...

Admit it!
Despite your pseudo-bohemian appearance
And vaguely leftist doctrine of beliefs
You know nothing about art or sex
That you couldn’t read in any trendy New York underground fashion magazine
Prototypical non-conformist
You are a vacuous soldier of the thrift store Gestapo
You adhere to a set of standards and tastes
That appear to be determined by an unseen panel of hipster judges (bullshit)
Giving a thumbs up or thumbs down to incoming and outgoing trends and styles of music and art
Go analog baby, you’re so post-modern
You’re diving face forward into a antiquated past
It’s disgusting, it’s offensive, don’t stick your nose up at me
Yeah, what do you have to say for yourself?
Whoah, whoah, whoah, whoah
Yeah, what do you have to say for yourself?
Whoah, whoah, whoah, whoah
You spend your time sitting in circles with your friends
Pontificating to each other
Forever competing for that one moment of self-aggrandizing glory
In which you hog the intellectual spotlight
Holding dominion over the entire shallow pointless conversation
Oh, we’re not worthy
When you walk by a group of quote-unquote normal people
You chuckle to yourself patting yourself on the back as you scoff
It’s the same superiority complex
Shared by the high school jocks who made your life a living hell
And makes you a slave to the competitive capitalist dogma
You spend every moment of your waking life bitching about
Yeah, what do you have to say for yourself?
Whoah, whoah, whoah, whoah
And I say yeah, what do you have to say for yourself?
Whoah, whoah, whoah, whoah
‘Cause I’m proud of my life and the things that I have done
Proud of myself and the loner I’ve become
You’re free to whine, it will not get you far
I do just fine, my car and my guitar
Proud of my life and the things that I have done
Proud of myself and the loner I’ve become
You’re free to whine, it will not get you far
I do just fine, my car and my guitar, yeah
Well let me tell you this, I am shamelessly self-involved
I spend hours in front of the mirror, making my hair elegantly disheveled
I worry about how this album will sell
Because I believe it will determine the amount of sex I will have in the future
I self medicate with drugs and alcohol to treat my extreme social anxiety
You are a faker (admit it)
You are a fraud (admit it)
Yeah, you’re living a lie (hey) living a lie (hey) you’re life is living a lie
You don’t impress me (admit it)
You don’t intimidate me (admit it)
Why don’t you bow down, get on the ground, walk this fucking plank (yeah!)
Yeah, what do you have to say for yourself
Whoah, whoah, whoah, whoah
And I say yeah (what do you..)
Proud of my life and the things that I have done
Proud of myself and the loner I’ve become
You’re free to whine, it will not get you far
I do just fine, my car and my..
Guitar, guitar go!
I drift, drift, drift, drift, drift, yeah
I drift, drift, drift, drift, drift, yeah oh
And I am done with this
I wanna taste the breeze of every great city
My car and my guitar
My car and my guitar
So you’ll come to be, made of these urges unfulfilled
Oh no, no, no, no, no
When I’m dead I’ll rest
When I’m dead I’ll rest, lay still
When I’m dead I’ll rest, I’ll rest

“While marriage equality is absolutely an important goal for our movement, it is not the end. We are equal, but we are greater than just marriage and deserve respect above and beyond marriage equality” - Jacob Tobia
Also: I don’t believe marriage is a human right. It is a social/political/economic institution.
Also:
“- I disagree with the prioritization of marriage over other fundamentals (job discrimination, trans discrimination, homelessness, to mention a few)
- I have problems with how the mainstream lgbt movement tends to advance images of queer folks as white, cisgender, not economically struggling, able-bodied, non-immigrant, and not-otherwise-different folks. we are all different in each and every way.
- i take issue with the constraints of marriage as a historically defined way of preserving privilege
- etc.
- but i do see the pain that many LGBTQ folks (esp. our elders, who have weathered so much discrimination) have gone through in not having the option of marriage for their particular circumstance. while immigration reform stalls and splits apart same-sex binational couples, adoption and family laws are based on antiquated ideas of two-parent / biological families and remove children from LGBT parents, and so forth - the chant to reject marriage as providing any viable assistance to queer folks perhaps does not acknowledge just how incredibly conservative (based on notions of society from hundreds of years ago, anyone?) and unimaginative our laws are, and how slowly the law evolves. i seek more fundamental changes, but i am excited for those who have been waiting to have marriage as an option. no social justice movement is one-size-fits-all, and we are hopefully continuously expanding our theory of change.” -Jonas Q. Wang

i just wanna know how people justify rape by saying “it was the victims fault for choosing to get drunk” like hey wanna know a thing
alcohol isnt sex and sex isnt alcohol and surprise!!!!!! you can choose to get drunk without choosing to have sex?????? and you can probably choose to have sex without choosing to drink. i know its a lot to take in but trust me here okay
completely agree! Something we all have to take into account though is that CONSENT is a new thing! 100+ years ago it was totally fine to marry some young girl for land or money I’m sure that there were plenty of girls who did NOT want that. Raping and killing has been going on since.. the beginning of man! Countries invading and taking over…. rape happens all the time. NOW it’s our time to END RAPE CULTURE!!!!
